Brigade holsters

I have a Brigade M11 for a Commander sized 1911. It arrived April, last year.

It is a high quality holster and a reasonable option for someone looking for a Milt Sparks VM2 style holster.

I also have a MS VM2 for a full sized 1911. The leather quality is comparable. The main differences are:

a) the Brigade has a retention tightening screw behind the trigger guard opening;
b) the opening is reinforced with a polymer strip inside a leather strip instead of a metal strip in the VM2;
c) the bottom of the Brigade is closed, the VM2 is open;
d) the distance between the belt loops is greater on the Brigade by an inch or two;
e) the leather thickness and overall holster thickness is a little bit greater on the Brigade;
f) the Brigade has double stitching around the gun profile;
g) the Brigade is a few dollars cheaper.

It took Brigade about as long as Milt Sparks to make the holster, so delivery time is a wash.

Bottom line: I'm happy with both the Brigade M11 and the VM2.

I have a Brigade M11 for my S&W 6906. It is well made and made with quality leather.

It is NOT tuckable in std format. I made mine tuckable by adding some J-clips for a tuckable holster, some 3/8" thick spacers, and relocating the mounting T-nuts to the bottom of the holster mounting flanges. It works fine that way but it's butt ugly to look at. ("hint hint" to Brigade - a "convertible" M11 pattern would be the ticket to make this product better.)

The delivery time is very short compared to Sparks and other makers.

i have 2 of their holsters. one for a glock 21 and one foe a xd-45c. really good holsters; worth the wait. well made, form fitted. holster for the 21 allows it to be easily concealed. mcole
