Here are my Bobtail 1911s (a Sig Nightmare Carry, a Dan Wesson CBOB, a S&W 1911SC E-Series, and a Kimber Super Carry Pro HD). I own non Bobtail 1911s as well, but I figured a pic thread specifically tailored to bobtailed 1911s would be a little different and refreshing for a change. Let's see your Bobtails.:D

Do these feel much different when you're shooting? I know the bobtail is mainly to reduce printing when you carry.
I have shot a handful of 1911's with a flat MSH and liked them, and then when I built my own the parts kit I bought had an arched MSH and I didn't think I would like it, but after shooting it awhile I have no desire to change it. One of these days I will have to get my hands on a bobbed gun and see what its like.

My favorite bobtail, the Ed Brown Kobra Carry. I have one 1911 for every day of the week (with 2 on Sundays) in 4 different calibers, but this one is my favorite of them all.

Redneck, my EBKC does feel different when it's in use. The bobtail seems to fit my hand even better than a standard government model, even though I love the feel of the original government grips. My wife, who prefers the Springfield XD9 to any of my other 1911's really likes the feel of the EBKC with it's bobtail.

I have tried various bobtail 1911s and I just don't feel comfortable with them in my hand. Might be because I have a smaller size hand but of the different mainspring housing configurations I like the flat design the best.

The rosewoods are beautiful, but slippery. I finally tried a set of VZ grips. . . and now the gun holds on to you!

I find the bobtail makes a minor difference in grip feel, mainly reducing how much the square MSH pokes the meat of your palm opposite the thumb. It makes a significant difference in how hard the gun pokes your ribs and wears holes in your sports coat.

I replaced a Taurus 1911 with this Sig Fastback Carry 1911; much nicer gun I carry it in a Garret holster.

I've been seriously shopping for a Kimber super carry lately. How are they...other than expensive? I have other 1911's, but sure like the looks of these and I guess I'm obsessing over getting one.

Flat MSHs, curved/arched MSHs, or full sized frames that have been bobbed don't seem to bother me or effect me while shooting 1911s. The bobtailed full size frames seem to print a tad less while carrying IWB (could be my imagination though). The officer sized frame that are used in a lot of 3" 1911s and CCO 1911s really print less while carrying (since it is shorter in the grip), compared to the full sized 1911 frame in general.

I just love my Kimber Super Carry Pro HD. Great for carry and the range. I don't think you would be disappointed.

Just like Sinbad339 above, I have a Sig Fastback. Wonderful gun and a TON of options for the money! A lot of things on the Sig are options on more expensive guns - checkered front strap, a really gorgeous treatment of the muzzle and bushing, excellent night sights, and very pretty grips to name a few things. In addition, the trigger on mine is superb - better than the factory trigger on my Springfield TRP, which is no slouch. A truly nice 1911 for the money. Took me a while to get used to the bobbed corner, but it's ok. Nice to carry, albeit kinda heavy with the steel receiver. I still do carry it though. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys and sorry for the slight hi jack. Sounds like I need to try and get my hands on one. I do carry my full size occasionally but it prints pretty bad without a jacket.

How's the Kimber Super Carry shoot? I've been tempted by that gun before...they look great.

Another DW CBOB owner...it's by far my favorite 1911 for carry. As others have said, it seems to fit my had a little better, but more importantly if you carry it, that bob-tail doesn't protrude as much as a standard, full-size grip. I just really like the way they look as well...
