Hi all, and Mele Kalikimaka!

We're headed over to Mecca, er, I mean Coal Creek Armory today to wring out a few pistols with my dad and my son (18) and daughter (20). Up 'till now, my daughter has shown very little interest in guns; however, she's got a new best friend who grew up in Montana and has sparked an interest in the young Felonious Nun. Junior Monk did Basic Training this past summer and is a shooter, so now just need to work on the youngest daughter (14).

After having the pleasure of buying her copies of In the Gravest Extreme, Her Wits About Her, and a couple of Paxton Quigley's titles, she's back to "when can we go to the range, Dad?". My answer? "Today, sweetie."

Does a fella's heart good to see the generations coming together over propelling lead downrange.

Season's Greetings,
Felonious

ETA: I just realized this is the 7 year anniversary of my membership here at THR. Think I need to buy a gun while at CCA to celebrate?

I'd say you did a good job raising them, there's not a range visit I enjoy more than when I go with my wife, son and grandson. We're still working to coordinate a visit with our grand daughters, it seems our schedules are in different directions nearly constantly.

Do you need to buy a gun to celebrate? Well, duh! But then again, I'm an enabler, asking me if you need to buy a gun is always going to get the same response, HELL YES! Maybe even 2!

Enjoy your visit to the range, and have a very Merry Christmas!

I can't wait til my little one is big enough to come to Coal Creek with me. That is, if I don't go broke trying to pay for my membership there.

Yes to Knoxville. I don't know any other Coal Creek.

Hope you all enjoy the shooting. I've shot there.

Yes, we just brought two new handgunners into the fold a month ago at CCA.

40s something Brother and Sister-in-law. They live in an upscale area of West K'Ville that has had a bunch of B&Es and general strange goings on.

By the looks of the lack of gun safety in the area with two young people dying from gun play, literally, over the last two weeks we can't do enough to make em safe.

The whole of Knoxville, is getting to be, NO, is as bad as, Atlanta or some of the other dens of horror. I have lived here a major portion of my life and I fear to leave my home anymore.

Awww Knoxville's not that bad. There's definitely some bad parts and bad stuff in the good parts, but I've yet to reach the point of being afraid to leave the house.

I did have a guy get out of his car and try to fight me in traffic the other day because "cut him off", so maybe it is getting worse.

I've lived in Knoxville all my life and can't agree.

Crime rates depend upon where you live, like most places. If you live in particular parts of town where the crime rates are highest you may think the rest of the place is the same. It ain't.
