This article reminded me of a few posts that Zoogster has made over the years about how the GCA-'68 effectively removed gun sales from non-licensed retail outlets like the local hardware store, autoparts dealer, and grocery store. Now many gun sales take place off in a 'specialty shop' like a taboo adult bookstore. This article, although in the UK, takes the shunning to another level. This puts hunting periodicals in the margin with those of overt sexual imagery; both are now adult content.
The antis have been pushing the gun culture out of the public eye in many different ways over the past few decades, and here's just another example. Hopefully this never happens here in America.

No shooting magazines for sale to under-14s

Country sports enthusiasts are furious at a decision by Britain's biggest newsagent to ban children from buying shooting magazines after a campaign by animal rights activists.
WH Smith says youngsters under 14 will not be sold shooting titles, even though it is legal to hold a shotgun licence below that age.
And even adult customers attempting to buy a magazine featuring shooting now face a humiliating alert as staff receive a "till prompt" to check the buyer's age.
