Do any of you folks in the states own a Brocock air cartridge gun?

For those who don’t know about them they used a small air cartridge called a Tamden Air Cartridge (TAC) that was pumped up using an air pump You then unscrewed the nose cone and popped a pellet in. Air from a Divers bottle could also be used if you had the right attachment. You could vary the power output from the TAC by simply reducing the amount of air in it. Typically you could expect to get up to 6 foot pounds of muzzle velocity in a revolver and 12 foot pounds in a rifle depending on the air pressure and gun used. They were quite accurate over 25 yards so long as you were.

Uberti converted a number of their SAAs and CB revolvers to take the TAC system including their impressive Winchester under-lever range and Henry rifle. They even converted a Scofield revolver.

Sadly some idiot criminal managed to convert one to fire a live round so the Government here banned the sale and purchase of them. Owners either had to put them on a Firearm Licence Certificate (FAC) or hand them in to their local Police Station. Luckily as a FAC holder I was able to keep mine but have to keep them locked away in my gun safe when not in use – THEY ARE AIR PISTOLS FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!!!

Anyway here are a few pics mine – for the PPK look-alike you have to manually cycle the slide to eject and feed the cartridges but it works well.

I would!

I used to have a couple when I was back home in the UK and despite having access to actual firearms I sort of miss them.

Very cool toys.
