Was at the range today sighting in my AimPoint when a round failed to go into full battery thus locking up the rifle. Well I cleared the round by adjusting my stock to the shortest position and slamming the butt of the rifle on the shooting table. The round cleared fine and when I adjusted the stock to my shooting position it felt like it did not lock in to the pinhole on the tube all the way. Well after about 10 rounds the stock broke free and slid all the way up against the rifle and the locking pin would no longer hold. I took the stock apart and found the locking pin to be bent in a crescent shape and now I cannot find a replacement pin. The stock I used was the MagPul MOE which I thought they made a claim the pin would not bend when clearing the action like I had to do. Well I called MagPul for a replacement and had to leave a message that could take up to few weeks for them to get back with me on. Ugh Sigh...
Broke my AR15 stock today.

I am surprised that the MOE would break like this. Definitely pursue a warranty claim, and keep us informed on how this turns out.

I doubt it will unless you SLAM it on concrete. And I know you won't be doing that.

I find it nice to have a shorter LOP for off hand shooting; then a longer LOP for prone and bench rest shooting. You get the benefits of both the A1 and A2 stocks in one rifle.
They're handy if you use a modern, squared-up shooting technique, and/or if you wear armor (though, I suppose the latter point would fit with the "unless you're in combat" qualification). The thing that is really nice about them is that you can get a consistent cheek-weld regardless of your attire (t-shirt to plate-carrier).

I like them due to my wife being short and needing a shorter stock. Also nice to adjust if wearing light shirt or winter coats.

I get a much more comfortable hold with the AR adjustable stock locked at the midpoint position.
I like to hold the rifle closer to my body than the conventional fixed stock allows.
Since the sights are movable along the long rail atop of the gun, I can move the sight (or optic) to whatever position gives me the best view.
I'm sure Magpul will take care of the OP on the service request.

Hat-tip to those who enlightened me on the benefits of a collapsible/adjustable.
Don't know how that applies to MagPul products, anyways just recieved an email from Magpul with shipping info they would like for me to send the stock in for repair/replacement. Will follow up in this thread once the stock is returned.
Just for those that say adjustable stocks are useless I always square up on the rifle and shoot the isoceles position. I don't wear body armor when I am off duty but I practice with my personal weapon as I would with one issued to me by Uncle Sam.
