Let me see if I can accurately describe what is happening. I was shooting my Browning Superposed and all of a sudden I pulled the trigger and it just went click. After that I could not get the gun to fire. So I take the gun apart removing the barren and fore grip and when I try to put it back together the pivoting cocking lever lifter will not move, it is stuck down in the position it would be in if the gun was closed. I am going to see about taking the action apart (or get a gunsmith to do it) but from my very bad description does anyone have an idea what may have happened? Thanks.

There's a factory repair station in Cumberland, Virginia - SE of Charlottesville and west of Richmond.

quick fix

that happen sometimes on my Winchester 21s and LC Smith. Brownells actually sells a neat little wrench that will decock the lever. But I just place it on the edge of a hard piece of wood, press down and it will open. Never tried it on a Browning but you're not going to hurt it.

+1 what Tom Held said

When I was a kid, I loved to hunt with my fathers browning citori. I would drop that part back down while cleaning. I think i pulled the trigger on it and it fell. A soft wood can be used to pry it back up. At least that's what I did and its been working fine for another 15 seasons and countless thousands of rounds. My favorite shotgun. I need to send it off for refinishing as it has over 20 years of hard field service. Rain, snow, sleet, mud, etc. it has never failed me

Do NOT send it to Browning - look up Art's gun shop in Missouri - THE Browning folks. Superposeds are out of production, so unless you REALLY know what you are doing, it is best left to the pros
