I'm very sad today, my scale broke! :(

I have a PACT BBK 2 Electronic Powder Scale
http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=883267

And today it decided to die.

When I turn it on it says tESt. And goes no further.
I called Pact & they had me try w/ the AC adapter, battery in the unit, & battery outside the unit. It was the same on all 3 tries.
They said to send it in, so no reloading for me til I get an new scale.

Dang it! I forgot to go to the post office today to send it out. Guess I'll have to leave it by the door so I remember tomorrow.

Any one have any experience w/ Pact cust serv?

Used to own an digital scale/powder measure combo - it lasted three months.....my old-fashioned RCBS 5-10 balance beam has been going strong for over 30 years.......

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, think I'll keep the manual scale after all

I've never used a digital scale. I have an old Hornady beam scale bought in the 80's and it works to perfection. I only periodically test about every 20 rounds thrown. I hope you get a new scale and get back to reloading soon.

The last time I was at a Cabella's and decided to look at a digital scale that was accessible to test, it failed it's built in test, right there in the store.

I've stuck with my used 5-0-5.

I bought a Dillon digital balance several years ago and it's still running great. However I still have my old Lyman scale as a back up if my digital ever fails. Once you use a digital balance, and realize how fast and accurate it is, you will never want to go back to a beam balance.

I have a Dillon D-Terminator and it has been working fine for over 9 years. I pre-weigh all rifle loads on an Ohaus 10-10 then on the Dillon. I have noticed occaisonally the Dillon will need to be "zeroed" if I set the powder down too hard. This is why I use the Ohaus first.

Short of dropping it, or letting it get filthy, there isn't much that can ever go wrong with a balance scale. Got my Ohaus in the mid 60s and it is still doing what it should. It isn't too great for weighing a whole bunch of cast bullets though. :D

Yep, a good old OHAUS can just be "un bent" and it will keep on going and going and going ...
