After a few years I've rediscoverd my BHP and a love affair is starting to bloom again. This a really a compact gun for concealed carry especially in the small of the back position. I'm curious just how many people out there still carry BHP's and also are they still military issue in some country's? :)

I still carry mine in more bulky-clothes months, and on "special" occasions. SOB is not very comfortable while driving, or if you happen to fall back on your butt.
BTW, are you east or west of the park?

The Browning Hi Power is just a beautiful, classic handgun.

I have two T series BHP's from the late 1960's and each is super accurate and uber reliable.

They are pretty much safe queens but I like to take 'em out to walk on occasion.

I've carried one and wouldn't have a problem doing it again.

The way 45 ammunition prices age going, that may be kinda soon.

I've carried one for CCW on and off for years -- including using my current MkIII for concealed carry these days. In my opinion, they need a bit of tweaking to be a really good fighting pistol, but once they are set up properly they are superb.

My regular carry is a Charles Daly Hi-power clone. Really well made gun for the price, and like all Hi-powers, very thin, easy shooting, and with Mec-Gar flush fit 15 round magazines packs a decent punch. The XS Big dot sights are pretty neat too.

Pilot - No, not since they ended my discount for reloading stuff. Always got 10% on a deal with my shooting club. Now they're too expensive.

Wes - Nice grips. Who's are they?

Jonnyc & Pilot: I never shop at French Creek Outfitters, those people have a severe attitude problem, their prices on everything are way too high, and they absolutely refuse to deal on any gun in stock. I always go to Barber's Firearms in Perkiomeville to purchase a new firearm or scope. Chuck is one of the nicest guys to deal with in the gun business and has great prices. :D

I'm partial to Seneca Arms in Green Lane, the only gun shop I've ever bought a gun in. Always done better from other sources.

I don't buy anything there (too expensive) either but I do use their indoor range sometmes. Just came back to the area for a while.

I love my BHP and I do carry it occasionally. It has a Cylinder & Slide hammer and trigger (without the mag safety), and Craig Spegel grips. I've added night sights since this picture was taken. I also use MecGar 15 round mags.

I carry a .40 caliber Hi Power "Practical" as my off duty gun.

As far as military issue, I could be wrong, but I think Australia still issues the Hi Power. I'll check next year when I go down under for a vacation.

England still issues the BHP. Remember the photo of Prince Harry with one in Afghanistan?

As I write Cylinder and Slide is putting in a hammer, sear and trigger and "tuning" a 1985 Mk II that I recently got as a CCW gun. I left the factory parkerized finish and put Olive checkered Aluma Grips on it.I kept the factory forged sights after I widened the rear notch to get it sighted in. I have a Rogers IWB holster for a BHP and a Roger's Plaxco World Speed holster that I use with my MK III Practical that also conceals pretty well. +1 on the Megar 15 round magazines! I find my self carrying a Glock 26 mostly these days and of course an old Colt Agent in a Myka pocket holster as a minimum. The S&W Scandium .45 PD seems to be carried less and less! Must be the cost of ammo these days.

I carry this one all the time.... It is a 1972 BHP that now sports, Novak Nights, C&S hammer& Sear, wide trigger, extended safety and also has had a very nice trigger job by Wild West Guns.

BHP hands down is a great carry gun. It is slim and with the right holster and belt it disappears.
