I just bought some Brown Bear 7.62x39 125 gr soft point ammo. Anyone have experience with this stuff? Anyone ever use it for hunting? No its not silver bear it is brown bear.
No experience with the soft point stuff, but I've about 3/4 of a case of the FMJ. Head stamp is the same as "Sapsan" ammo, which is "made" by Wolf. (Come to think of it, I think Wolf is mainly an importer... not sure though)
I've fed a lot of it through my SAR-1. No hiccups of any kind, and is as accurate as the next batch... as far as the rifle is concerned, anyhow. Doesn't smell quite as bad as Wolf, but the packaging (paper-wrapped rounds inside a carboard box) bugs me a bit as it seems needlessly redundant. Price is comparable to Wolf, too.
As far as inexpensive ammo goes, I give it a 4/5 (downside is that it's not really brass). Hope this helps
