I just recently got a GP WASR-10, and after some reading, took off the muzzle nut to find a threaded barrel. I purchased a slant brake from Brownell's (which fit fine), but it has only recently occurred to me that I have no way to prove it is a US-made part, and do not want to fail the compliance two-step.

In all honesty, I cannot remember which brake I bought--it was either made by Interarms, or FA Arms. Does anyone know if either (or both) of these are US made (I believe the FA Arms one is, but I don't know about the other)? And what's more, since it has no markings on it, is there any way to prove it's a US part?

Keep your purchase record from Brownell's. That will probably adequate proof of the brake's origin.

I've never heard of any case where someone actually had the import/domestic parts count of their rifle checked, or even questioned. I think it's really more of a concern for importers like Century than it is for individuals dressing up their AK (of course, it never hurts to be safe).

You could probably find a machine shop that could make you one locally, I've enquired as to getting a 4-prong made locally for my Saiga. I thought about contacting my locals schools metal shop teacher also.

Simply an internally threaded piece of bar stock cut at a slant for a slant brake.

Most anybody you can find to make an AK muzzle brake will probably need to be provided with the appropriate tap. It's a 14mm-1.0 Left Hand Tap, $44.95 at Brownell's, and not something most gunsmiths or machinists are likely to have on hand.
