I just inherited a Browning model 1900, manufactured by FN. I've been trying to find, without success, a link that shows manufacture dates for this pistol. The Serial number is 177,6**.

Does anyone have a book or link that shows the manufacture date?
    Thanks.

Most of the early FN records were lost or destroyed during World War One and World War Two.
Funding exact dating on a specific pistol can turn into a daunting task.

Based on the numbers of these pistols made, your pistol was most likely produced between late 1903 and mid 1905.
There were approximately 72,000 pistols made between 1900 and 1903.
Another 330,000 pistols were produced between 1903 and 1907, this was the largest block of these pistols made in the whole production run which lasted from 1900 to 1917. Hope this helps a little bit.

    :)
    Thanks very much.
I'd estimated about that from the info I had found. Good to have some confirmation.

Neat to think that it's over 100 years old now.
