Went to the range today with the Browning 1911-A1 22LR. Fired 90 rounds total. No failures. The firearm has never had a failure. What a breeze to take down and clean.

This pistol is a pleasure to shoot. I have been working on trigger control. The pistol is so light that it really shows how well you control the trigger pull and your body. Excellent practice pistol.

Today I was using 36 grain Federal, in the 525 round carton.

Thats a great training handgun with the classic 1911 look. How much if you dont mind me asking ?

I had to do some negotiating and I still didn't get it as low as I think is possible. $499.00.
That was from a Browning dealer. I have friends at a gun store tell met hat since they are not a Browning dealer that $499.00 is their cost. The common price I see is $535.00.

I beleive my dealer has one for 500 here in Ky . I can't see as a 1911 practice pistol as its way smaller than any 1911 I own . Its may be 3/4 scale . Seems better off useing a 22 conversion on your carry 1911 . Then grip and trigger be same.
Browning a great little pistol But I just don't see as a training pistol. I see as a expensive plinker.
just my 02

It is an expensive plinker. It is also a good trainer. Not in the way of, "It's exactly like my 1911 .45 ACP", but any shooting is training. It is also good to teach your kids, as a kit gun, etc. I understand, to each their own.

My brother has the Browning, it is a very nice gun, but I am still going to get a Sig 1911-22 or GSG 1911-2 instead. Not that I have anything against the Browning, I just like the full sized guns better.

You know the Sig and GSG are the same gun just the logo and price are different. It took approx 5000 rounds to break in my GSG before it became more or less reliable. Think I paid $300ish at AIM when they first got them in....price has gone up.

I looked at several options to include the Browning 1911-A1 22LR which seems to be a well made .22. Glad yours is working as advertised and thanks for the range report.

Yep, she is running "as advertised". I prefer shooting it over my Ruger Mk II because of how easy it is to clean and field strip. I hate cleaning guns and I can't leave a gun dirty so every time after a range day, it is cleaning time.
