I have a friend who has a A-500 and has owned it for many years. He says for some reason the recoil has increased much more than previous years. First let it be know that I'm not a gunsmith, just more of a tinkerer. I cleaned the shotgun and installed a Limb saver recoil pad for him. He still says it still recoils more than before ? Of course, I shot it before I returned it to him. To myself the recoil was fine, but I have never had an issue with recoil. ( I shoot at least 100 or more a week on sporting clays ) Just thought someone out there might have some idea what or if there is a problem. My friend is in his late 70's and is not an active shooter,he may shoot a few rifle rounds a year Deer hunting. I have thought it may be his age as well as not being an active shooter could be the problem. So,if anyone knows or thinks a part on the shotgun needs replacing , I'm all ears. Thanks

Its possible hes simply less recoil tolerant than he used to be, perhaps there is some arthritis or something else causing a sharper pain than before.....
As to parts to change, im not sure what operating system that gun used, but what ever spring type it has replacing the "mainspring/springs" might help attenuate the recoil a bit more.

The only A5 i ever shot seemed to have a pretty sharp slap at the end of the recoil cycle, but that again my experience is VERY limited.
