Browning A5 --- price check

I have a 24 hr hold on a Browning A5 2 3/4, light 12 ----26 inch Vent. barrel , Modified,
about 70% Belgium made.

The price is $379.00

Not the barrel I'm looking for ( looking for a slug barrel) but the price seems ok.

Thinking of maybe buying it and selling the barrel and trying to pick up a slug barrel........any comments.......thanks

Oh can you shoot slugs through a modified choke---probably not huh?

Yes, foster's shoot OK in a Mod choke. Buckshot does Very well in it. A rifled slug BRowning made barrel is gonna cost you up to $300 used. Mine , like new was $225 + ship a couple years back on e bay, which was a wonderful few years of oppurtunity to get scarce gun parts reasonable until that AH at Virginia tech bought some stuff there and the gumbies caved to the liberals.

I'd say that's not a bad deal. My guess is that you could get much of the slug barrels price out of selling the VR model. The more open choke barrels on older A-5's are harder to find. Seems like everybody bought full barrels.

dont know if this will help, but saw a a-5 deer on gunbrokers. It was at $300 2 days ago.

ok.......I bought the A5 and found a slug barrel on the internet for $160.00....will probably keep both barrels now, because I got a good deal on the slug barrel.
