Browning Auto 5 barrel question

Are the barrels on Browning Auto 5 Magnum 3" guns interchangable with 2 3/4 inch Light 12 Guns? For example if you have a 3" Mag 12 and wanted to do some skeet shooting with it, could you install a 26" 2 3/4 chamber barrel?
Also, would the Mag 12 function reliably with 1 1/8 ounce target loads?

I think if you turn the friction rings to the "light load" position it will work just fine with low base 2 3/4" loads!

Gordon has it right on the advice ............ turn the friction ring around and it should work fine. Anyway my A5 mag. worked 1 oz. game loads with no problem when I tried it. The barrels will not interchange.

Looks like Bill B. beat me to the punch as I was posting. Thanks Bill. Too bad the barrels are different. Hmmm, now I'm wondering if Browning ever made a 26" skeet barrel for the Magnum 12. Probably not since most of the 3" guns are used by waterfowlers. Thanks again.
