I want to buy a 308 cal Browning Stalker, but I want higher capacity than 4+1.

Are there any higher capacity mags available for these?
Any way to get these to accept the FNAR mags?

I sent an inquiry to a custom mag builder about a month ago about this verysubject and never received a reply, I am under the impression this is not a doable project. Would be nice though.

I believe the BAR has a pretty light contour barrel. I don't think it's really made for long strings of rapid fire; it's intended as a rifle for carrying in the field.

I can get a deal on a nice used BAR for about $600. New FNARs are ~$800 higher.
For this difference, perhaps I can live with 4+1.

I've not used the BAR Stalker but if it's like the older BAR's I'm not sure how easy it would be as the magazine doesn't clip into the gun. It clips on the little swing down door and that door being shut is what holds the magazine in. If you did away with that door/floorplate to allow a magazine to stick out the bottom there would be nothing to hold it in.

I will also say the one I had in 30-06 got the barrel pretty hot and was not accurate after 3 shots unless you let it cool down.
