Just picked it up yesterday, got a great deal on it and it looks nice next to my Hi-Power. I'll be hitting the range to see how it shoots compared the hi-power. It definitely has a different feel to it, but so far I like it. The gun is in like new condition with the original box and paperwork along with 2 10 round mags (came out during the ban). I've ordered some 15 rounders I found on the web because I could. LOL Anyways here's to hoping it shoots as good as it looks and feels.

I read about these every once in a while, but rarely see a pic or range report on them.

I too am looking forward to more pix and a range report.

It looks a little sleeker and more modern than the Hi-Power, but the SAO of the Hi-Power is hard to beat. :)

The BDM is a great gun. There are two problems: finding mags and finding holsters. The BDM won't fit in an HP holster and uses it's own style mag. They can be found, but it takes some looking. The only holster I could find at the time was a custom made holster by Andy Arratoonian at http://www.holsters.org/:

Enjoy your new gun,

BDM range report

I hit the range yesterday and I put 75 rounds though and 25 through my hi-power for comparison. I also brought my Buckmark as I didn't want my other Browning to feel left out. LOL

Anyways, first thoughts are the gun is solidly made and I had no issues with any type of failure to feed. Ditto with the hi-power, never had an issue with regardless of what I'm feeding it. The BDM is slightly slimmer then the hi-power, but it felt good in my hand just different than what I'm used to. While both guns are accurate and hit where I aim I seemed to be hitting a little high with the BDM. Where as I would hit around the 10x center with the hi-power I would hit in the 9 area with the BDM. Thought it could be me, but I struck up a conversation with the guy in the next stall over. I let him shoot a few rounds through it and he also hit a little high. Groupings were tight and consistent, just a little high. Will have to play with it a little bit and adjust my aim. The BDM seemed to me to kick a little more than the hi-power, it wasn't much more but it was noticeable. Take down and cleaning was as easy as I expected it to be. All in all it's a good gun that is a nice addition to my collection.

Interesting gun, but the Hi Power is such a marvel, it truly overshadows the BDM. I think the concept was good, although Browning did some silly things with the safety (works opposite from BHP and most others), magazines (different from BHP) and the goofy switchable action. They should have just made it DA/SA.

I wouldn't mine picking one up at a decent price, but would rather shoot my BHP.
