Local shop has a used Browning BLR in .30-06 with a Bushnell 3x9 scope. Asking $450. Really nice wood and looks like it was seldom used. Anybody have experience with these? Accuracy acceptable for this caliber in lever action? Is that a fair price?
I think that is a deal on the high side. Brand new they list for $720.00 and certainly can be had for less. Forget about the scope, look at the gun as if it wasn't there. If it was a Luepold or another quality scope, I would say differently but, 3X9 Bushnell's are a dime a dozen. BTW, is it a BLR 81 or a BLR Lightning? The Lightning is the newer model and is called so because it lighter in weight but mainly because of the rounded pistol grip stock. The BLR 81 has a strait, english style stock.
They are very nice lever actions, I have one and it's very accurate!
Thanks for the reply. The Bushnell scope would go for something better such as a Leupold. Got a drawer full of Bushnells removed from other rifles. Need a scope past handgun range with these older eyeballs. Good to hear on the accuracy aspect. I'll have to see what they can do on the price. Like I said, it looks darn near unfired, and it does have the pistol grip stock, so I suppose it is the Lightning model.
You're welcome! Frankly, if I would buy the gun for 400 bucks or less! Browning owners usually take good care of their guns and, I have found many of them are not shot much. It is a sweet gun!
