How easy or difficult is it to break down and clean after each shooting session?

Also I changed the front post sight to one of those green dots for higher visability in low light conditions. This is a little kit sold by Browning where you can insert either red sights or green sights in 3 different sizes from 0.90, .110, and .125 in diameter and they are in 2 colors green and red.
I'm not sure which size of the dot is suppose to be better since they offer them in these 3 sizes and two colors:confused:

The rear post stays the same. Now after changing the front post to one of this higher visibility front post sights will there have to be adjustments made again for sighting pistol in?

Are these sights just as good and accurate as the black sight post that came from factory?
I'm wondering if I should just leave it with the factory post which is all black.

Very easy to disassemble and clean. Not sure about the sights. Maybe you should try the original sights first.
I already made my sight adjustment with the regular sights. Remember it is only the front site that will be a bright neon green which is suppose to make it easier to fire in dark areas or where there is less light vs. the factory sights.

You have to clean them? All I do it wipe mine down and give it a little oil now and then. I suppose sooner or later I'll have to break it down and clean it. Even the breech is still pretty clean after several sessions and a couple K rounds. I have cleaned around the extractor a couple of times.

I would recommend not tearing it down after every session, that's only necessary every 5000 rounds or so. After each use, lock the slide back and clean what you can reach with a brush, cloth, and q-tip. Lube a bit and you're done. Leave the barrel alone. If your trigger gets gritty before you reach the 5000 mark, use a bit of SYNTHETIC SAFE spray gun cleaner. Removing the top cover and screws all the time is not really good for a Buckmark.

I understand about not tearing it down after every session but don't clean the barrel?

It's kind of standard conventional wisdom to leave .22 barrels alone, easy to damage them and they seem to get/remain more accurate.

I'm thinking of getting a Buckmark, especially after handling one testerday...
I'd get a UDX with a fiber optic front sight already installed from the factory.

Take it from me. I just learned a lesson about Buckmarks the hard way... Do not take off the grips unless you have about 30 minutes to kill trying to put them back on.

The Browning buckmark doesn't appear to be a difficult gun to clean when you take it apart to get inside.

But all I did was change the front black post sight to a green low light type. I wouldn't think this would change the sight adjustments.

I have one that I just recently tore completely apart and cleaned, then reassembled. It's not that bad, but instructions are necessary. Midway sells a "Gun Guide" book for the Buck Marks that tells it all. And you'll love that fiber optic front sight, much better than the black one!

I also like the Mod. 17 S & W 10 shot .22 LR revolver but who in their right mind is going to spend over $700 for one of these when you can get a real gun for the same price.:what:

+1 to what Chemist said.
Maybe a drop of Weaponshield to each side of the slide too. Wipe down with a silicone reel cloth and you're done.

You won't know if you need to adjust the sights until you shoot it. Try it and see.
I agree about not cleaning the buckmark too much. I've shot mine several thousand rounds, all I've don't is brush off the breechface, and drip a little oil into it. If it really bothers you, pull a boresnake through the barrel, but it doesn't really need it.

Sounds good to me and less work too. I almost bought a bore snake last weekend but decided if I'm going to do that I'll just do it the old fashion way with a brush with Hoppes #9 followed up with patches until they are clean.

As far as sights go I notice the front sight has different sizes. Is one size pereferred over the other or is it just personal preference just like the choice of the two colors between red and neon green? There are 4 choices of different sizes of dots.
