Hey guys,

I am wondering if anyone can help me put a value on my Browning Buck Mark Contour 5.5" URX.

I am about to list this gun for sale. It has probably 2000 rounds through it and is in like new condition. I do not have the original box but do have all the papers. I will be selling it with 2 additional mags that cost me $60 ($30 each).

What do you guys think I should ask for it?

Thank you.

In case you are wondering, I would like to get myself into a S&W 22lr revolver. Just saw a S&W 63 snubbie in 22lr at the lgs the other day. Unfortunately it was $900. I guess my dreams for a classic S&W in 22lr will be on hold, but will probably try to find a S&W 317 or something.

Gun is probably around the $300-$350 category. Mags can be had on sale for $20+ new.

I'd maybe go as high as $400 on gb if you get someone who really wants it.

What did you pay for it and knock 30% off-of that price.

You need to be realistic, no gun that has 2000 rounds fired thru it is going to be in "like new" condition. It will have wear marks and some loss of bluing, plus whatever scratches it may have picked up.

You lose value when you no longer have the locking plastic box.

Extra mags don't usually add value to a common pistol, you may even make more if you sell them separately.

Let's face it, B. Buckmarks are very common pistols, many people will want them, but nobody's going to pay premium. Most likely, whoever is shopping for a used pistol is looking for a great deal and may want to haggle even. Best that you set a reasonable price and stick to it.

I found them online (5.5" contour) going for $359 NIB, why would anyone pay $400 for a used one? Set a realistic price so it'll sell fast.

Thanks for the input guys.

Maybe my thinking was a little bit high. I paid $420 and then picked up two extra mags.

I was thinking $400. In my mind I arrived at that saying $360 for the used gun and $40 for the extra mags.

CWL, I shot it yesterday and I always put it down on a towel as I always have with that gun. It is as close to perfect cosmetically as it can be for a used gun. If I take the $420 I paid and knock off 30% then I arrive at $294. If I add in the two extra mags maybe $325 to $350? I don't have the box so I know that isn't good, but I am not too experienced at pricing used guns. Everybody seems to be asking high prices around here on used guns.

My LGS put that exact model out for sale last weekend for $249.

RussB, that price really surprises me. After a little more research, the lowest price I can find for a new camper model is $336 (that is from Buds). I always here there isn't much room for profit in new gun sales. Your dealer must be selling at cost of losing money on that one right? That is crazy cheap.

Sell your mags separately. Honestly mags sell pretty good on their own, but when added to a gun people tend to view them as "freebies".

Together they're worth $350. Separately the gun is still worth $350 and the mags can fetch $15-20 each.
