I took my new .22 Browning Buckmark Stainless Camper to the range today. It jammed 8-10 times, twice on loads, the rest on ejections. I was using Winchester 22 LR, which I've used before in a friend's Browning 22. I noticed a slight "catch" when you pull the spring clip about 1/3 of the way down. I'm wondering if it's that or just the newness.

Thanks.

I'd take it down, clean it, and re-lube.

What "spring clip" are you referring to? The magazine follower? If so, I'd take the magazine apart & clean/lube and see if you can get it to not catch.

I had the same problem with jamming of my new Buckmark. Unfortunately I haven't been back to the range yet to see if things improved...

just took my new buckmark "practical" to the range this afternoon. After a good cleaning and 50 rounds of Aguila super velocity 22lr it ran perfectly. I even was able to put Winchester wildcats in it. The only ammo which gave it trouble was the russian surplus which is coated in a heavy grease. I had some complaints about the smell the russian stuff was generating so the range master asked if I would stop using it, this was a first. Great pistols just need a good cleaning and quality lube. Even my 7.25 buckmark hunter would not run the russian stuff, kept stove piping it.

If by "spring clip" you mean the magazine and you are releasing it slowly from the frame, you are probably feeling it clear the magazine catch.

In regards to the failures to load and eject:
Did you give it a good lube before trying it out?
Also, check the two screws that hold the sight base on (behind the rear sight and above the chamber); these need to be all the way down and tight.

Welcome to the forums:)

Regards,
Greg
