Hey guys I went to the gunshop and handled have a browning 525 in 20 gauge with 26" barrels ($1700) and a browning lightning field ($1400)...really liked both guns but liked the 525 a little more...less rust concern for me and I liked the satin wood. However, I came upon a deal for a NIB Citori Lightning in the case colored finish for 1350, with really nice wood. Help me out guys is this a good gun for the money. I saw on gunbroker one was listed at 1600.00? Really appreciate your help!

I've had a 12 gauge, 28" Lightning Field Citori for about ten years and am quite pleased with it. Although I own several other shotguns, the Citori probably gets 25 rounds through it for every one through the others. I use it for sporting clays, dove and quail hunting, and even once for goose hunting. I don't care for the glossy finish, but it's pretty durable, which can't be said for the blueing - it's nearly worn off of the bottom of the receiver. It's also a little heavy, but that's not all bad since I can shoot a lot of target loads and not be bothered by recoil.

$1350 sounds like a good price. I paid more than that for mine ten years ago.

I've owned and shot Citori Lightnings for the past ~25 years with NO problems. Owned a pair of Field Grade 12 and 20 guns with fixed chokes for about 10 years. Replaced them about 15 years ago with a Grade III 12 and Grade VI 20, both with screw-in chokes. Have had zero problems with any of the four Citori's.

Good shooting and be safe.

I have a Citori Field 12ga and its gets used alot. It has the fixed chokes. It fits me like a glove and shoots better than I do. Citori shotguns really hold their value. It sounds like a good price.

Citori lightning 12ga

I have a lightning 12 and 20ga...I find the 12ga to be excessivly heavy for walk up field type hunting but fine for pass/decoy waterfowl shooting or clay games...I also had one of the 3 1/2in Citoris.. talk about handling like a lead pipe....Sold it to a guy that uses it waterfowl hunting in Canada...He loves it!?

Thanks for the information guys...I dropped a money order in the mail yesterday. One guy quoted me 1699 for the same gun...pretty much sold me on the 1350 shipped!
