Can other readers come along and "correct" it? Sure.

However, if you happen to look at Wikipedia during the two hours and 26 minutes that the entry says the United States was begun in 1736 by a conspiracy of Neo-Catholic Masonic Front for the Buddho-Islamic-Judaic Illuminati of Budapest, well then, that's what Wikipedia said.

Wikipedia is totally worthless as a place to reliably get reliable information.

They have some good and reasonably balanced beginning info on guns, though.

It does have some interesting stuff on firearms, as well as scientific subjects of interest. Really the only place you need to really watch it is controversial subjects (usually politics). I've noticed they've forced people to be registered and vetted to adjust certain topics (for instance, go to their site for W or Al Gore or Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan).

Try and vandalize wikipedia and you will see that it gets reverted within about half an hour.

Yes, a lot of the information there is halfassed from a serious scholarly standpoint, but there is a ton of correct info on there for casual reference.

I have to agree. Why, just yesterday, I found the gate arrangements to build a parallel-in, serial-out shift register, and a decent discussion about the different kinds of flip-flops. The information was so useless that all of the devices I was breadboarding worked.
