I am hoping some of you experts can help me identify this holster. This is my Bruce Nelson rig for my G22. I have had it since 1994 but I do not see anything that lists the style or name of design. On the inside it does list my last name, tan, 1 1/2 and GL 22. I just bought a P7 and wanted to find a similar style to this. Any help is appreciated.

Bruce Nelson was a southern California cop who stitched holsters part-time in his garage at night.

Milt Sparks leather picked up where Bruce left off with some of his designs.
But I don't think they make that one now.

However, it is not that much different then a lot of other companies do make now.
Finding one made for a P7 might be a problem though.

Teh design is an Askins Avenger style....

Without a top band and with a retention strap.

Almost everyone makes an Askins Avenger style. They may call it something else, but everyone makes the style.

Most use a top band that is lengthened on the back to form the belt loop behind the holster.

I happen to carry a P7 on a daily basis. If you want to chat about the ones I use, I would be happy to. Send me a PM and w can chat. I may even have one that might work for you.

It is the Professional model, now made by Milt Sparks as the BN55. I don't know if they will make you one with the thumb break strap, though I have seen older Sparks rigs with such optional straps.

I think I have seen this style of rig still available somewhere, but would have to search for it, and don't have time at the moment. Perhaps Ted Blocker.

as Rexster said this is Nelson's Professional model, with the Sparks model being named the BN55 as a nod to Nelson. Nelson also designed the Summer Special which is the grandfather of all practical IWB holsters.

just about all holster makers make a version of the Professional as it is "The Standard" for OWB holsters. i remember when Sparks marketed the optional thumb break safety strap or their LE customers who needed it to conform to departmental regulations. when they added the safety strap, they deleted the mouth reinforcement...just as Nelson did.

the version i used for my Beretta 92/96 is the Alessi ACP/DOJ

Go over to 1911forum.com and look up a fellow named Tony Kanaley. He will be able to answer questions for you. He's in charge of Milt Sparks Holsters.
