Anyone have experience with these knives. I believe it is a Strider/Tarani design.

I've been looking at selling or trading my old Benchmade 970 as I've finally decided that the chisel ground blade just doesn't do things the way I like a knive to do them.

The buck/strider has come forward as a possible trade.

I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks,

I have had one since late fall of last year, but it has'nt seen regular use yet. It is OK, and the least expensive way of getting Strider influence. All the net experts wailed about liner thickness, but I have'nt heard of any failures.

Had I known that they were going to release a G10 version with thicker liners I woulda waited, especially at the price point they are at. I would have been a lot happier paying endura prices. I guess the Strider name and Bos heat-treat are worth something, but it never seemed a great value.

I would probably recommend waiting for the G10 version, which I believe is due out this month. Otherwise, I dunno, it is awful pricey for what you get. I was also real excited for a knife that was designed for police work, but I cannot see anything so special about it......

Good to know.

Thanks sendec.

The deal fell through on that knife, but my interest has been kicked into gear.

I think I'll try to check out the g-10 model when they get out this way.

They seem like affordable SnGs, but IMO the selling point of the SnG is the framelock. If one were to go liner lock, I'd get one of these puppies

I like my Emerson PSARK, but one thing I don't like is that it's not ambidextrous....I can't mount it on my left front pocket opposite of my pistol.

The Strider/Buck looked to be ambi, but I could be wrong. What I really like about it is the stippling on the top of the blade that would allow me to flip the blade out with my fingertips...something I already do with both my emerson and benchmade knives.

food for thought.
