I currently have 2 Benchmade Griptillians, one is with the standard drop-point blade in 154CM and the other is the Doug-Ritter Griptillian in S30V with a black blade. I also have a Spyderco Centofante III....

I also have a whole bunch of lesser knives (IMO) like a Buck Rush assisted opening, a Buck 110 Hunting Folder, a Gerber or two, a Swiss-Army knife here and there, and a bunch of cheapie knives that I have for doing ridiculously dirty work so when they finally become 100% disgusting, I can toss them in the trash. Also, I have a couple Leathermans that I use all the time, like a Micra (on my keychain) and Wave (often on my belt when doing household and yard handy-work).

Anyways, I wanted to get another knife in S30V, also a folder, but a large folder if possible. Preferrably with a black/anodized blade, and I prefer Benchmade over pretty much all other brands. I'd like to get something that is a little bit more of a fighting knife... most likely from Benchmade's Black or Blue line. I was thinking maybe a Presidio in all black, either auto-opening or manual-opening (I'd have to decide if I like auto enough to justify the extra cost) or maybe a Rukus... or something along those lines. I'm not partial to any one blade-type.

Any suggestions?

Ok... here we go.

The knife that has served me daily for over ten years is a Bench Made CQC7. IMHO it is the best and toughest folder ever made. G10 Scales. ATS-34 chisel ground blade. Titanium liner/ liner lock. Thumb disk (not a stupid thumb stud). Simple, beautiful, elegant, functional. No longer in production, but if you can find one (evilbay) they are worth every penny.

The new Bench Made that I am lusting over is the deja view. Please see here:

Or....

If you don't have a AFK bench made has re-released them as a limited run.
See the same link above. THe Benchmade site was having maintenance done on it, so I couldn't post links separate, but they both are on the same page.

Please see the pics below for the CQC7. Note these are not mine.

You know... I was looking at that recently. It's interesting, and seems like it would be pretty useful as a general utility knife... but overall, for some reason it wasn't giving me that, "Must have" urge. lol. To each his own though. Let us know how you like it when/if you get it. It seems like it's definitely another "tough as hell" offering from Benchmade... that's for sure.

Sounds like the Benchmade Skirmish

Another one I was looking at... and seriously like. If I'm not mistaken, there is a Gold Class version of it too with some really nice custom-style work.

The only thing I didn't like when I held one at the LGS recently, was that the handle seemed a little slippery. That's one of the aspects of the Presidio that I really liked (unfortunately I don't think there is a Presidio in S30V  :( ). Same applies to my Griptillians. I don't know how the Rukus feels though as I haven't held one. It might have the same issue.

I'll definitely give the Skirmish another look though.

ETA: Yeah, here is the Gold-Class version. It's a Mini-Skirmish, not the full-size, but still:

If you want a large folder with those features this is what I've been pushing for with my wife for X-Mas.

Or if you want something from Benchmade then just flip through their catalog like someone suggested above and just find something that strikes your fancy. Sounds like you've already got several Benchmades though.

Hey I'm not a great knife guy but I would have to strongly recomend the Cold Steel AK-47-G10. Much, much improved over the aluminum scaled version and light, tight and sharper then hell.........:D
