I shot my russinan mak IJ 70 in 9 mm makarov yesterday using Barnaul 95 gr JHP . I wanted to dump two magful bec these loads were old for years now and i wanted to load new ones. I slowfired it at 7 yds two handed brace on a table . It does have a little snap to it i can tell . I have a few boxes left from many years ago stashed when they were still imported. It has a wide cavity and quite accurate on my gun.

Now the Buffalo Bores caught my eye. They have a particular rated plus P. Wasnt this around in the market for a long time now long before the arrival of Hornady making their 9 mm mak Sd loads? These BF have some power to in them. I can imagine the kick they can generate on a little makarov.

Anyone have tried them and how was the recoil?

Haven't tried them yet, but they are much hotter than the mild Hornady SD loads.

I wouldn't waste the Barnauls. They're great loads.

I use Buffalo Bore in 9mm, .40 and .45. The increase in recoil is noticeable as they are hot rounds, but not unmanageable. I've shot them out of my XDM9, XDM40 and 30S. Before shooting their ammo, I checked and double checked to make sure it would not damage my guns. If you're unsure, e-mail them. Mr. Sundles responded to my questions in a day or so. You'll also want to check with your gun manufacturer. I use them as one of my SD rounds, but shot them only enough to confirm that they'll function in my guns. It's not something I'd shoot on a regular basis as it'll beat up your gun, plus based on their cost it's too expensive to shoot regularly.
