I recently "tested" some Buffalo Bore 32acp HCFN (hard cast flat nose) 75g +P out of my Kel Tec P32. This was an unofficial, and unscientific "test" to compare it to my regular carry load, the Fiocci 73g FMJ. The test medium was a stack of wet phone books that were duct taped together.
I have to admit, I was impressed with the performance of the Buffalo Bore ammo. It penetrated about 20% deeper than the Fiocci, and it made a cleaner and larger permanent puncture cavity due to the flat nose. One thing to consider is that the flat nose makes the cartridge shorter and is therefore prone to rimlock if you have not installed a rimlock kit on your mag. I will likely only use these rounds in the chamber and at the top of the mag to avoid rimlock issues. The rest will be the good ol Fiocci ball.
The +P factor was not really noticeable recoil-wise. The snap of the recoil was not more than that of the standard 73g ball. Overall, I think Buffalo Bore hit the nail on the head with this load. It resolves 2 major weak points of the 32acp... lack of penetration and lack of permanent tissue damage. Now if they can just make the price a bit more reasonable... $1+ per round = ouch.

If you have a rim-lock kit installed why not load up with it completely? You could store it in the mag instead of the box.

I don't have one installed, and I'll probably keep it that way so I can continue to use FMJ ball. Anyway, those first couple of rounds are the most important IMO.

From their website.....http://www.buffalobore.com/ammunition/default.htm#32

A. Berretta Mod. 70, 3 inch bbl.— 1001 fps

B. Kel Tek, 2.5 inch bbl—910 fps

C. Seecamp, 2 inch bbl.—856 fps

The above bullet speeds are 110 fps to 150 fps faster than the Winchester 71 gr. FMJ ammo on the American market. Not only is our bullet heavier than any other American made 32 ACP ammo, but it is moving about 15% to 20% faster—with that heavier bullet!

Whats the ballistic specs from this load in a 3-4 inch barrel???
+1 What Kokapelli said. I think that a 4 inch barrel would easily hit 1050fps. Its good quality, hot loaded ammo that packs a solid punch. One thing to add... this little 75g bullet made a cleaner and larger permanent puncture cavity than 115g FMJ ball made coming out of my 9mm. It didn't penetrate as much as the 9mm, but nonetheless I feel better about the abilities of my tiny little P32 with this stuff in the pipe.

32acp ammuniton

I picked up a Kel-Tec 32 the other day. I never thought I would go this small but for back up or when I have to hide in hot weather I felt it might fit the ticket. I am heading out to push lead down range in the morning. I will feed 100 fmj's through the little cigar lighter sized pistol. I will then start to consider the next 100-125 follow ups. In long term I like the idea of carry ammo with some teeth bigger than the normal offerings. I think Buf. Bore will be the first two down the barrel and followed by fmj's. I too don't care to add this and that to this lil fella. Anyone worried about putting +p through these little midgits? Good shooting......and Peace....... I think they can go hand in hand......:D

Thanks for this review. I have been wondering about the BB ammo for awhile. I am going to order some. It is steep but if it does the job then its worth it.

I called Magnum Research about using Buffalo Bore in my new Micro and they had never heard of Buffalo Bore and when I told them it produced 150 to 200 fps more velocity they didn't want to recommend using it.

Since they had no idea how much chamber pressure it produced I decided to email Buffalo Bore and received an email back from Tim Sundles who said that the pressure from Buffalo Bore was not a problem in guns like a KT P-3AT or the Micro Eagle.

I have some of BB's ammo coming and only plan to use it very sparingly in my Micro.

After I test it for reliability I will probably only carry with one Buffalo Bore/Gold Dot in the chamber and 6 conventional fmj in the magazine.

I simply bought another magazine, and added the rim-lock prevention kit. Actually, I have two such magazines, one as a spare load. I use a pair of different mags for FMJ practice. The FMJ mags have been painted with red on the base-plate.
