Which of these two is the better ammo? What's the differences? This would be in .32 ACP, 9mm, .357 and .45 ACP.
Thanks for your input. One can always garner dozens, even hundreds of opinions by asking a question like "Which is better?" without going into details regarding intended use, make/model of firearm, etc. And guns, both pistols and revolvers can be finicky, working flawlessly with one brand of ammo and being nightmares with another.
Buffalo Bore is loaded right at or very close to max specifications and is some very hot ammo. I would hesitate to use it in an older firearm, particularly one which I was not intimately familiar with. Corbon is very good but not as hot, so it depends on things like intended use, make/model of firearm, girlfriend's preference, etc. Since you mention .32 ACP I'm going to guess that hunting isn't necessarily on the list of potential uses for that ammo anyway.
For urban defense Corbon is probably the better choice, for rural use Buffalo Bore might be just the ticket. I'd probably go with Buffalo Bore for handgun hunting. For target shooting, start with something cheaper and just use enough of whichever ammo she chooses so she is familiar with it and can hit what she aims at. You might also look at Doubletap ammo. It has an excellent reputation.
All of the above. What are you going to be doing with it? Self-defense? Hunting? Target Shooting?
I agree both brands are expensive as you only get 20 per box. But for protection you wouldn't be using these rounds all the time only for protection.I think both brands cost too darn much to be able to afford to practice with what you carry.
I would go with something I could afford to shoot a lot of.
50 or 100 FPS more velocity isn't going to make one bit of difference in a gun fight anyway.

What would you then suggest?neither is worth what they cost. don't waste your money on this stuff.

Yes I like the idea of 50 rounds better. Today it seems to be that SD rounds only come in packs of 20. I am used to 50 rounds in a box. Don't know what started this I guess these so called special SD rounds did. (some type of marketing ploy?)depends on what you need it for.
for 357magnum wild animal protection, the remington 165gr core locked is a good one.
for SD:
45acp--Federal HST, or winchester 230gr pdx1/ranger
9mm--Federal HST, or winchester pdx1ranger 124gr +p
32acp--winchester silvertip (oldy, but a goodie)
you can order 50round boxes of a HST/Ranger cheaper than two 20 round boxes of corbon or BB.
The Winchester PDX1 ranger in both .45 ACP and 9mm is this that new all cooper bullet that costs $40. for 20 bullets?
What brand or what does HST stand for and which brand is this?
I'll check out Cabela's on that. I have bought tons of ammo from them before. They have a great variety of ammo that I cannot find in the regular stores. So Federal is HST and Ranger is Winchester "for law enforcement use only" but will sell to civilians. Last time I saw that at a gun show it was those Black Talons which cost $45.00 a box.lol they do, however you get around that by buying the 50round boxes of ranger--same thing.
Federal HST's are the best jhp's on the market today. come in 50 round boxes. they're law enforcement ammo like the ranger, but you can order either one online. i just got a box of 40cal ranger LE ammo at cabela's yesterday: 50 rounds for $19.99. some of my local mom and pop shops have the HST and rangers too.
Buffalo bore usually exceeds their listed performance (which is impressive) in every gun I've used it in. Double Tap hasn't always met their listed performance.
I checked for the ammo you mentioned and couldn't find it. The Ranger ammo is only for .40 caliber. Most of the other brands and calibers were all 20 hot boxes.lol they do, however you get around that by buying the 50round boxes of ranger--same thing.

In .357 BB 125 grain 1,700 fps is a real kicker. The little .32 ACP is also hot for such a little bullet. Those 9mm are rated at 1,400 fps.I agree, every buff bore ive fired is at least 25fps faster than its listed.
