Bug out Bag for college student?

What about a bow and arrow on campus? You could probably get a tribal looking recurve, unstring it, and pass it off as a school related artifact. It'd be a better self defense weapons/hunting tool than a lot of things...

bow and arrow is illegal as well.

"NO BLADES NO BOWS"

no bbguns no airsoft no paintball

anything that can get a highschool kicked out will potentially get a college student arrested.

I think some of your are relating this topic to me as a college student and some are relating it to college students in general. I wrote the thread referring to college students in general.

As for me: I live off campus and can own all the guns I want, I just can't concealed carry on campus because it is a private university. I'm not doing anything illegal as some have suggested (they didn't know that I live off campus).

I forgot beautiful co-eds to help repopulate the TEOTWAWKI earth.

Add them to my VW rocking van. Sorry not to be serious. :)

"NO BLADES NO BOWS" Isn't that quote from Robbin Hood?

I would have a basic plan for what to do in any forseable emergency. This is more important for people who have others that they have to worry about.

I figure that 3-5 days of MRE's for my wife and myself should be fine, as I would hope that by then I could either find, pillage, or hunt some type of food.

I think I would drop the pillaging from the plan. Some people you run across, may not like your idea to well.

I think reagansquad has the right idea. A mountainbike and/or a good set of backpacking gear, along with a few days food and water, is probably enough to get you through (or away from) just about anything.

I'd say that a good knife is the single most important item. It's the ultimate all purpose tool, and a superb weapon if you're willing to use it fiercely.

Tying for second place would be matches and a good pot. You need both to boil water

Third on my list is a stout pair of hiking boots, for obvious reasons.

Fourth is shelter, in the form of a tarp. Compared to tents, I find tarps to be lighter, more weatherproof, less likely to break or fail, and much cheaper. (Note that a tarp requires stakes and rope, too, not just the tarp itself)

I'd prefer that full set of backpacking gear mentioned above. But I think I could get by comfortably with just these specific items.

Luxury items would include baby wipes, Oreo cookies, a gun, my mp3 player, and most importantly, my girlfriend.
