I'm thinking of building a FAL with an Israeli heavy barrel. I found a parts kit and Imbel receiver for $899 and $218, respectively. So now I just need a number of U.S-made parts for 922(r) compliance, correct? Also, is that a good price for the parts and receiver? Thanks.

http://www.falfiles.com/forums is probably the best source of information about the FN-FAL rifle. If your barrel happens to have one of those evil baby-killing flash hiders screwed onto the end of it, then you typically need seven U.S.-made parts for 922(r) compliance.

I don't know how much the Izzy parts kits usually run, but I'm pretty sure that $218 for an Imbel receiver in this day and age is a smokin' deal.

Yeah, they're hard to find. My 'friend' bought his back in the 90s and never got around to completing it. So he's selling it to me for 'street' price. (From the 90s)
