@LoonWulf, sorry if I missed it but are you using a proprietary magazine or follower or both? I assume that the legend won't work in standard AR15 magazines?
 
Thanks. The rib inside standard AR15 mags that the case neck of .223/5.56 rounds rests against prevents a double stack arrangement right? So is the CMMG mag a single stack with a proprietary follower or does it have a modified outer tube to allow double stacking of the rounds?

The rounds double stack....lemme go grab it and take pictures in a bit
 
@LoonWulf, great photos! So it looks like it's a proprietary magazine tube since the ribs are all of similar depth. Typically the rib closest to the front of the magazine is deeper to offer support to the case neck of .223/5.56 cartridges.

I see'ems now.

it's been a while since I had a 556 AR mag in hand, I should probably just go get one from my buddy who's borrowing my other ar.....maybe a plastic mag is in order then, I think I've read you can cut the ribs out of those.

I believe cnng said a standard 556 mag will work for 4 or 5 rounds. So you may not have to change much, that was with a gen3 pmag.
 
I've got a pot of coffee and a case of monster in the fridge too.........

Yeah those 147xtps are brutal wasn't much left in head of that pig I shot, it was all just liquid.
course 2350 is probably a little fast for them, I was finding copper wash on the muzzld when I removed the brake.


Removed the ribs from the 30rnd mag, I didn't do a real nice job tho.
The mag works while hand cycling, but is sticky, which I THINK is due to the nicks, dings, and small lumps I left.
I'll do more polishing later, I need one of those monsters now......

Just a couple updates. The 30rnd Pmag didnt work, rounds dont come up fast enough and it either goes bolt over top or pinches them. Could just be the poor job i did removing the ribs.
I also ordered some 170 Hornady spirepoints, and have had no issue getting 2200-2250 with them with h110. Might get some lilgun at some point and see if i cant get 2300or so.

Yeah, but carrying a pound or so of ammo hanging off the bottom of a 7lb rifle dosent really appeal to me much anyway :D

Ive read lilguns rough on...well...everything, but i figure ill still MOSTLY be shooting 147fmjs rather than the 170-180 hunting rounds....and well its an AR, burn the barrel and ill swap for an 18 or 20 I think.

Ya new bca barrel is under $100. Do you have that cheap monstrum mount on the 350 Or the 6.5 how's it holding up.

Ive got the monstrum mount on my 6.5G, its doing find holds zero tho im pretty rough on the loose upper. Ill get the box with your stuff out tomorrow when i ship some stuff i sold on ebay....thanks for the reminder LOL

Lol I kinda forgot to, good it's holding up. I think larue had there one qd mount for under $100 which seems like a deal.

I Should try eBay some day I have some small gun stuff I'd put up there.
 
well I completely forgot lol. I haven't used a larue mount but only heard good things.
What's how I usually get rid of stuff that I don't give away. it's easier than dealing with people most of the time.

I ran about 40rnds of starline reloads thru mine and havent seen any issues, but I can also get Win brass cheaper so may switch back.
