Building another AR, what caliber this time?

I'd say either big-bore or Grendel would be good depending on if you shoot short or long ranges.

I'm surprised no one mentioned it. But why not 308? I only have one AR in 5.56. And my next will be 308 variant.

But I like the idea of a the big bore 458 socom or 50 beowolf also. The 9mm would also be up high on the list.

Should the 20" barreled rifle get the A2 upper receiver or the flat top with optics?

I'm definitely leaning towards the Grendel. If I go that route, the flat top will go with that build. Decisions, decisions.....

im voting either 458 socom or 50 beuwolf, thats what im building next, probably the 458 though.

FWIW, I'll be buying an AR with uppers in .223/5.56 and .458 SOCOM, plus either 7.62x39 or 300BO, plus a .22LR conversion kit for shooting 60gr SSS. I "might" then sell all my other rifles except the .30-06 and beefy .22 pellet rifle. This combo will do anything "I'll" ever need in rifles. But... I'm not a precision shooter.
