I shot a 1911 that had a Laser-Max installed. I didn't care for the flickering laser.
To me the Crimson Trace seemed to be much brighter and had a longer range.
I also didn't care for the Laser-Max on/off switch. A momentary switch is much easier to control. I'd be worried about the laser turning on while in the holster and draining the battery.
