I've got a Stag upper with a flip up rear sight, an Aimpoint CompML3 and a fixed front sight. I'd like to replace the front sight/gas block with a flip up front sight. Seeing the front sight through the Aimpoint really annoys me and I want to get rid of it.

Any suggestions on what to get? I've looked at Troy and YHM. I don't want to spend what the Troy costs. Is the YHM good and reliable? Are there others I should look at as well?

TIA

I have a Midwest Industries BUIS and it is very sturdy and accurate. I think they can be had for as little as $80, check into em'

YHM = wobble. If that's okay, then you should be GTG

Troy= solid. If built like a tank is okay, then spend the extra dough.

I've been told that the YHM wobble is back and forth and not side to side and therefore it doesn't negatively affect accuracy. Is this true? I've never been able to shot one.

I have a couple of standard A2 rifles with flattop receivers and the YHM front flip sight/gas block, and the front sight is pretty solid on both rifles...

I have an EoTech 512 HWS mounted on the flattop, with a Matech PADS BUIS behind the Eotech...

I've been very happy with this arrangement, including the performance of the YHM front flip sight/gas block...

For what it's worth...

I run the same setup on my AR, very satisfied with it, rock solid.
