I picked up my BUL M5 frame today from my FFL and have a few questions b/c I am totally unfamiliar with this gun. I know that there have been "style" changes recently, and this is an older weapon, here it goes:

First off, it seems like the grip safety does absolutely nothing. Granted, the frame is stripped, but when I drop a pin through the hole and hold the grip safety in, it has no travel what-so-ever. Is this normal for the older model BUL? If so, why even bother dropping that piece in there?

Secondly, I am wanting to put an ambi-safety on the gun, but that little "ear" on the right hand side of the ambi-safety has to fit somewhere, right? Well, I have no hole for it to insert into. Do the older BUL models not accomodate such a safety?

I sent an email to BUL about these issues and asked if a "frame upgrade" was possibly available. For some odd reason though, I don't think their customer service will be as good as a US dealer...

Thanks for any help you can give me.
