I could use some suggestions on 223 bulk ammo, but here's the problem; due to penetration issues, my local range doesn't allow any FMJ rifle ammo. Any places around that sell JHP in bulk?

While there are better choices when accuracy counts, Wolf makes 55gr HP 223 ammo that is quite affordable. There are other choices (from Black Hills, American, Federal, Remington, Winchester, etc.) but they are going to be an order of magnitude more expensive.

Some say it's Bad JuJu and other think that it's just fine. I have to admit that I rarely shoot commercially made ammo (excepting MilSurp) so I'm not the best person to ask.

Try some steel cases. My Colt will eat it all day long, just not the most accurate stuff you can use.

If your gun doesn't like Wolf, I use American Eagle 50gr HP at HP ammo only rifle ranges. I think Ammoman.com has the best price on brass cased 223 HP ammo.

That's why reloading is so great. With surplus, you are stuck with FMJ ammo, while, if you reload, you can buy soft piont, hollow points, flat base, hollow base, boattail's, nylon tipped....it's endless, when you reload, and the bullets are not that much more expensive....Also, you can find a favorite load for your gun, hard to do with store bought or surplus....
