Good Morning,
I used to reload back in the day (1990's), but several assignments/moves, kids in HS, and now a new carer leave me with little time to shoot, let alone reload. Add to that I sold my rock chucker and gear a while back, so for the forseeable future, I'm buying ammo. Other than .22 rimfire (which I shoot A LOT), my wife and I primarily shoot 9MM @ .40 S&W Glocks (19, 23, 26) and a Ruger SR556 AR. We shoot about 600 handgun rounds per month.
I was buying bulk BVAC (reloaded brass) from CheaperthanDirt.com (been through 3K 9MM and 1.5K .40) but have had probably a dozen rounds jam and fail to feed due to case sizing. Last week, I had a .40 brass blow out the side of the case by the primer (that one hurt like heck when it happened...pistol fell out of my hand and mag came out). Took me a second to check my digits and ensure I still had 5 on each hand. Thus, I'm thinking I'm done with CTD's BVAC for now.
I made a purchase from Luckygunner.com and quickly recieved my order of "Blazer Brass" 9MM and "MBI" .40. So far so good. As a TX resident, CTD charged me sales tax, whereas Lucky did not, so prices are almost a wash. I also shop Cabelas when they have the really great deals on 9MM (under $0.20 per round), but they are few and far between.
I was wondering where anyone else had found great prices and quick shipping for bulk pistol ammo.
Thanks,
God Bless you all, Texas, and our Great Nation.
