Bull Elk hunt in Arizona's unit 5B in 30 days

I finally got drawn for bull elk in Arizona and am excited. This is an area my hunting buddy knows well as he had a cow hunt there last year.

As soon as I get back in the states for Sicily, we are going to start scouting trips. The -06 is ready to go with my favorite reload using Nosler Partitions in the 180gr flavor.

Has anyone here had experience with that area? My last elk hunt was in Unit 9.

nice draw. 5b south is one of the, if not the best, units in the state. the downwind edge of a meadow when the sun comes up is a good place to be.

Yeah 5B is a great hunt. Lots of elk out there. What hunt do you have in 30 days though? Rifle bull starts November 30...

Haha, gotcha. My Aunt and sister have the same hunt, although it looks like I'm not going to make it. I had originally planned on going at least for the first weekend but looks like I'll be working

Got up to the area today. Weather is gonna cooperate to a point. Full moon and clear night skies means they'll be feeding at night. High 60's during the day. Towed the 23 ft RV up to Happy Jack RV park and am heading out in the morning for some last minute scouting.
