I have yet to pick up my VZ-24 rifle from my ffl holder and I am looking into the bullets for this 8mm. Is this rifle a .318" bore or is it a .323" dia.? Has the lions crest on top of the receiver if that will help. Surely I can slugg the bore when I receive it but am trying to get a definative idea of a 8mm Mauser aka 8x57

I use QuickLoad as one of my references, it give saami press ratings of 35000psi for the 8x57. What is a safe psi for the VZ if all things considered to be a safe firearm using N-150 and a Woodleigh bullet of 200 grns in this. Say 55000psi-or is this expecting to much out of the ole rifle?

Appreciate a new insight you may have to offer up.
Thanks

The VZ-24 has a .323" bore diameter. I've got one with a pretty pitted bore, but it still shoots pretty good. They are strong rifles and will take any modern load, as long as the headspace is correct.

Hope this helps.
