My collection of bullets is starting to get out of hand. Right now I'm just stacking up the factory boxes on the lower shelf of my bench, but that's less than ideal. The shelf is about 2 feet deep--if you keep them to the front so you can see everything, a big section of shelf is blocked--if I go deeper than 1 or 2 rows, I can't see what bullets are there. I'm thinking of adding a narrow shelf above my bench just for bullet storage, but I thought I'd see if anybody had any more creative ideas. Sooooooo....anybody care to share any other ideas? Thanks.

I had this same problem, but i just moved stuff to the back (like my Mil Ammo cans full of stuff I dont use often (like say 30-06 brass), so its atleast being used.

That's definitely a possibility also. But I know my luck. 5 minutes after I put the "thing I never use" back there and neatly stack the bullets in front, I'll end up needing whatever it is! :)

If you build a shelf, just make sure it's really heavy duty and securely fastened to whatever it's fastened to. It's not a good thing to have all that weight come crashing down.

Hope this helps.

I took the wife's little what knot case it has 2 rows & the top makes 3 shelves plus I can stack the boxes 2 high.

Something made like a rotating spice rack would be nice.

Some of my bullet storage above my bench, I use these first then re-supply the shelf from my bullet storage cabinet.

I keep bullets of like caliber together on my shelf. Each caliber has a "lane" that heads to the back of the shelf. The "lane" grows and shrinks with inventory. My shelf is also about 2 feet deep.

Bulk boxes get marked with the bullet and caliber so that it can be seen easily. Small, 100 count boxes I rely on the factory label.

For each caliber, I don't have that many different types bullets so that it is not difficult to keep track of what I have on hand. Note, I do not necessarily remember the quantity though.

I reload many calibers from 17 to 45 caliber.

Bullets get heavy, fast. Any shelf needs to be stout.

I store bulk boxes they were shipped in on the floor--45-60+ pounds each.. I keep a small supply of what I'm actually reloading on the bench in a cardboard box.
