Everything I've read indicates that a heavier bullet will require a lighter charge than the exact same bullet of a lighter weight. However, Ranier plated RN 115gr bullets range from 4.9 to 5.9 of AA#5 (1.14 OAL) and the same bullet in 124gr ranges from 5.6 to 6.4 (1.16 OAL). Does the difference in OAL make that much of a difference in charge?

.020 will definitely make a difference in pressure in the small high pressure 9MM case. It is not surprising to see some data overlap a bit.

.020 or "20 thousandths" is a pretty significant change in OAL in a high pressure handgun round. Loading data like you listed can be alarming and/or confusing at times. To ease my mind and make sure I am as safe as possible I consult a few different manuals and start lower in the charge range and work up.
