Bullet Weights & Trading Primers

They look delicious! Here in the frozen North, I'm pretty much limited to deer, which can taste from "good" to "needs onion and celery!" We had a bison "hunt" lined up in ND, but it was cancelled last year due to Covid as the tribal lands it was on were under an isolationist policy. I say hunt in "" as it sounded more like a Bison shoot, but the price per pound including butchering was better than buying Bison meat from my butcher, so we signed up. Still working on getting my deposit back. I think that problem is solved this winter when I have time to take a road trip, as they've said they'll pay me in meat but cash is a problem as they've had to restructure their business due to losses incurred when 2 years of their hunts were cancelled.

I think I saw some of those critters from a distance when I worked near Carlsbad Caverns several years ago.

You probably did see them. A bison meat hunt would be awesome experince for sure. Hope that works out for you.

1K primers for 1K match bullets would be a good trade. I read that you were only going to get 300 bullets back. Also thought they were normal pulled surplus FMJ junk. Dont beat yourself up about getting rid of them in the first place. You don't know what you don't know until you gain knowledge. Use this as a lesson and research things before you sell things in the future.

Your little black box may have been a Browning and Winchester joint venture in producing their own version of a duel-core bullet. I still have some in .270 Winchester.

Well that interested me enough to drag my butt outta bed but no luck finding said black box. I know after my hunt last year i gave some stuff away to some buddies that couldnt find any 06 ammo.
Bummer... you got me excited for a minute.
Ill look a little better later and if i come across box ill take a pic. 270 is a great deer caliber.
