Was watching a trailer for the movie "Bulletproof Monk". It seems that Chow Yun Fat is sporting two desert eagles in a few scenes..

Or am I mistaken?

Yipper!!

I'm a big Desert Eagle fan, but I'd rather see him using throwing stars and nun-chucks...:D

Unfortunately, I think this one's gonna be a bomb.
I sooooo don't want it to. I want it to be Chow Yun Fat's breakout US movie, but based on the previews and a few advance reviews floating around the web, I just don't think it's to be.

I really wish that Chow Yun Fat and John Woo would make another movie together.

I saw the movie and it was so-so. It was what it was supposed to be, a lighthearted action flick, no more, no less.

Not much gun play.

Chow Yun Fat's been doing too much touchey feelie stuff like Crouching Tiger and Anna and the King. He needs to do a Chinese version of Way of the Gun or do a modern Crouching Rifleman Hidden Sniper where the girl steals a golden MP5 or something.

Pro's: I didn't know he spoke that much English!
Cheesy, lighthearted comic relief feel

Con's: Kind of predictable
Why do Nazis always either wear their old getups and/or leather? Don't they have wardrobes like normal people?
Not much gun play.

He says in a few interviews that he's getting old; and so can't really do the hard flicks like Hard Boiled anymore.

But he's still pretty good. I'll go watch it just because it's a bit light hearted..

Eh, I thought it sucked. I wish he would do a real kickass US movie dangit... Replacement Killers was the closest he's come, and that's darn sad...

Time for him to start using Steyr M's.

At least he's dropped the Berettas and moved up in the gun foodchain.. <flame suit on!>

Anyone here think a Desert Eagle is an appropriate defensive-fighting tool?

Define "appropriate". If you don't MIND hauling around a four pound gun, maybe you'll like it. There's nothing "inappropriate" about .357, .41, or .44 Magnum, and all are good for self defense. .50AE is a little, um, much, but if you want power (and don't mind overpenetration) there you go.

I wouldn't carry one, but just because of the weight and bulk of it. Well, maybe once in a rare while just for fun, hee hee. :D

Desert Eagles... Blah. I think he did rather well with the Berettas from Replacement killers.
Let's see. 15 rounds or only 7? D.E's are just retarded. They always show up in movies or comic books or anime... but in real life, anyone going into a firefight would chose a D.E. right after Jennings or Lorcin.

Nuff said.

Desert Eagles... pfft

And there are some people who own 15 1911's... So we (this board) are the most guilty of lack of practicality!!

So please don't imply that a gun needs to be practical to be in a movie!!

I had a chance to fire a Desert Eagle in 50AE. :D If the bullet doesn't get them, the 6 foot flame will!!

Saw it this weekend - It wasn't too bad. Pleasently cheesey. The pic of him with the Desert Eagles is misleading, but that's all I am going to say about it.

The only thing that really bothered me was that some of the wirework was way too obvious.
