Bullseye and Unique.

I have not started looking yet but how much of a problem am I likely to encounter finding Bullseye and Unique in the current situation??
Small pistol primers are scarce and about 40% - 100% up in price when I do find them.

Ive found unique and bullseye to be non existant online but have found it still at local reloading supply shops. Also dont overlook small pawn shops, many carry supplies. I found a 4 pounder of win 231 yesterday.

I just checked Powder Valley and they are out of stock on both.

If they don't have any, nobody else is likely to have any either.

Unless you just stumble on some is a GS or something.

Area gunshop has a big jug of Unique and numerous Bullseye 1 pounders sitting on the shelves as of yesterday morning. He shut the doors to go deer hunting through this weekend and Sunday.

This is going to go on for a LONG time. Unlike the 2009 drought when there was no direct threat (other than a Dem being elected), now you have the president taking advantage of a tragedy to play to his base. This is likely to last at least until the midterm elections in 2014. Glad to hear you found some Bullseye. As for Unique, I would keep an eye out for other powders in the same burn rate range that will produce similar loads. I would suggest AA#5 and HS-6 as possible substitutes.

The shelves are pretty barren here. I went in today and I have been looking for AA7 and lucked out, but pretty much everything else was gone.

I feel things will get back to normal over the next 6 months. Part of the problem is from manufactures being closed or reduced production over the holidays. When the run on supplies, ammo, and guns hit, suppliers could not restock themselves. As buying levels out and production increases, we should see things getting better by summer.

What are they asking for 1# of Unique & Bullseye? At my LGS $23.00 is going rate..now H4895 is $28.00..why the price diffference..semi-auto rifle use?

Unique = $19
Bullseye = $19
4895 = $ 26
Primers = all available but limiting quantities. Small rifle, large rifle hardest to find, followed by large pistol. Small pistol is fairly plentiful. You just need to know the right people.

Difference in price of 4895 is based on wholesale price. More expensive to make etc.

I bought powder today at three shops. I was getting lil'gun for new project but every shop had Bullseye and Unique. There are other good powders available.

Around here primers are the scarcest item. The place I deal with sells them for $32/1000 when they have them, cheapest in the area. Their powder is in fairly good supply with most one pound bottles selling for $17 and 4 pound jugs at $56. They are out of many 1# but have a lot in 4#.

I went to a gun show yesterday in Puyallup WA, and the line to get off the freeway backed up a mile or two.
Then as pedestrians, they formed line around the block to get in.

I went to a gun store yesterday, and they were rationing ammo, one box per customer.
