I wrote a few lines the other night, let's say I was inspired. Figured the high roaders might appreciate it more than anyone else. Tell me what you think. I'm looking forward to comments/criticism/suggestions.
-Thanks!
When I wake in deepest night
Find my pistol and my light
Check the chamber see the brass
Eyes on front sight center mass
Easy steps I softly creep
Find what woke me from my sleep
Head on swivel open eyes
Round the corners slice the pie
Some folks ask about my gun
“Why not just call nine-one-one?â€
I call back without a grin
“Self defense is not a sinâ€
Sure I’ll call up Johnny Law
Gladly tell him what I saw
But he doesn’t have the time
To stop every single crime
‘Til he does you will see me
With my trusty BHP
Glock or Colt or Smith and Wess
Find the one that suits you best
Mag or nine or forty-five
All are fine for saving lives
So I clear my humble home
Flashlight, pistol, and cell phone
Set back now in their right place
Worried look soon leaves my face
For a breath I wonder why
Some folks do not act as I
Shrug my shoulders, start to sleep
Counting all those blissful sheep
-Thanks!
