Burris 2-7x35mm FullField II Rifle Scope

Does anyone have experience with the Burris 2-7x35mm FullField II Rifle Scope?

Would you recommend it?

What are the pros and cons?

If I bought it I am thinking about using it on some 6.5 Swedes, a 35 Rem Marlin Lever gun and a Marlin 24 inch barrel 45-70 lever gun.

I don't have one but I have had Burris scopes before and they are quality scopes.

I have the 2-7X35 Fullfield E1 and I like it. I have mine mounted on a sporterized 98 in 8X57. It is really clear and hasn't given me any problems. I like the lower magnification for hunting the timber. I also like that it is light, so it doesn't add much weight to the rifle.

I have a couple of the 3-9's. I like the scope a lot for the money. The glass is clear and they have a reputation as a pretty tough scope. I've looked at the specs and if considering the 2-7 would rather pay a bit more to get the 3-9. The 3-9 (13 oz) is only 1 oz heavier and 3/4" longer than the 2-7 (12 oz). The main advatage of the 2-7 should be a more compact scope. With the 2-7 so close I'll take the 3-9.

One other thing to consider. The adjustments on the 3-9 are 1/4 MOA. On the 2-7 they are 1/2 MOA. Probably not a problem on a rifle meant for close range work but it would make it hard to get it zeroed at 200 yards or farther.

If you want a small compact scope in the same price range consider the Redfield 2-7 (11 oz). The Leupold VX-1's are right at $200 and a 1-4X is only 8 oz and a 2-7 is 10 oz
