So I've used these and imo they are the best rings I've ever used in the under $100 price range. I love these things. One thing that has come across my mind though, is how are these things going to be in 30 years. I'm just wondering if the plastic inserts are going to be cracking, and just brittle and breaking apart? Obviously steel rings without plastic anywhere wouldn't do that, and I know it's probably not likely that many people will keep scope rings that long, but for guys that do, can you expect these to still be holding up?

I'm glad to hear your impressions on the Burris Zee rings since these are what I've bought for my new model 70. I gave some thought about the plastic insert before buying them but decided that it was probably a non issue. The plastic is not used in a high wear area and I like the fact that it won't mar your scope tube.

I'd worry about it in 30 years. In the meantime, enjoy those great rings.

I really don't think that they are run of the mill plastic. I'm thinking that they are probably more along to lines of some sort of polymer, not unlike that used in Glock frames. From what I've been able to see, they are impervious to solvents. Normal ones anyway. I haven't tried acetone.

What I don't like about them is how they slide onto the rail, with a high likelihood of scraping the finish off. I've used a bunch of them in the past and have switched them all out for Warne QD rings. IMHO, the best use for the Signature rings is to get a little more elevation or to cure alignment issues.

For the quick release rings your probably right. In my case, I have the regular signature rings and this a permanent install so it's a minor issue for me.
