President's address squeezed by sit-coms!..

I don't care for his policies and I think Cheney is Darth Vader. (Heck, I've even referred to our President as "el Presidente Jorge Shrub" in mocking tones.)

But, damn, he should command all four networks!

My Internet TV guide says here that Bush will appear on FOX and, I think, NBC, only via the airwaves. (Obviously, cable news providers keep such things as their mantra and fodder.)

Ridiculous! :fire:

His speech basicly said, he wants to put a token force on the border until we shut up, while granting amnesty, which he won't call amnesty.

IOW, he pulled it out, and pissed on everyone who wants a secure border, and is against amnesty.

He's preaching patience and tollerance.

I have no more respect for him.
I called my senators and told the assistant that I understand a need for some kind of residence status. But never any chance of citizenship. That line starts back in the home country.
Expect more people in through Mexico. Even with a technology implementation on the border they will rush in greater numbers so some can get through.

Same old song and dance. basically an invitation for more to come which
he has done for nearly 6 years.

I didn't watch it. Damn near everything the man says is a lie, and I personaly believe that he and his supporters (the co-operative media) are simply directing our attention away from the real problems which are these absurd tax cuts for the ultra wealthy, and the systematic outsourcing of jobs which he has allowed.

Mexicans may not be good for the economy, but they are a drop in the bucket compared to the blue collar jobs this country has seen head overseas. Anybody who wishes to dispute that with me should probably at least pretend they don't know anyone who lost a manufacturing job to a cheaper overseas worker. I personaly know 4 people who this has happened to.

He sounded reasonable to me. Doesn't matter what he does, he is going to be ripped apart.

P.S. I really love the people that have disagree with him before even hearing anything. The good old blanket "lying" about everything.

Hell, I once had a 3 hour layover at Dallas airport while Bush was governor, so I wouldn't trust him to walk my dog. He can't even make the airlines run on time.

I feel so much better now that poppa bush is taking care of business.

agreed

from a life-long Republican:

I am fed up, disgusted, p.o.'ed.

I regularly write my (Texas) Senators who appear to be on the right side of the debate, and my Representative, who is likewise. Oh, and I donate to the Minuteman Project whenever they show up at the local gun shows.

Re: GW Bush's five point plan:
Point #1--enforcement of existing laws. What do you mean, you didn't hear him talk about that? Come to think of it, neither did I. Wonder why?
Point #2--sanctions against those who employ illegals. He did *kind of* brush up against that one. Barely.

Guest Worker program? Road to Citizenship? Amnesty? Whole 'nother discussion, TO BE UNDERTAKEN AT AN APPROPRIATE TIME. This ain't it.

Republicans may very well suffer a backlash either way. My question is: would you rather take a beating for doing something or for doing nothing?

Oh, and about his quote that he was the governor of Texas and understands the problem...Wow, Governor of Texas for four years, President of the US for six years, and all of a sudden he has some pressing need to deal with this problem? Color me skeptical...and I will be writing all of my Congresscritters (again) tomorrow, and Sending a Brick...

If the vision of the Founding Fathers represents the highest political sanity, then Bush qualifies for a straitjacket. And if we keep him around WE are the crazy ones because he will destroy America.

Just a sign that some sheeple would rather sit and get a few easy laughs off a program of utter nonsense than engage their brain and atleast be informed and maybe get a few laughs at the expense of GWB

Bush bashing.net

I was listening to Fox News Network. Bill O'Reilly made the comment that only 40% of the nation's population is conservative. After reading some of the previous comments, I believe he's right! I'm going back to FOX,and let you Lib's bash Bush some more. Cheers!!

There is a guy..

..a known congenital liar that comes into my alcohol/tobacco/firearms/rural coffeshop. The other part-time liars are tired of his incessant lies. They ignore him when he speaks.

Not saying for sure its the same, but maybe Bush just told one too many whoppers.

I hate to say it but ORielly lied to you, the % is even less than it is more like 25%-30%.

On THR Alone:

--We have members that have gone thru the process and are now US citizens.
These folks during processing did and continue to contribute in positive ways to family, communities, and represent Reponsible Firearm Owners and other values.

--We have members that have family or close friends going thru this same process to be US citizens , contributing in positive ways , better representing US values and ethics, more learned in Civics than people born here in the US
- and being screwed over and getting hassled by this very same process.

I am grateful for the ones that are US citizen now, I am deeply hurt for those being screwed over going thru the process now.

I am NOT happy about the way things have been, have been dealt with, and future possible results.

I feel as if We have all, those of us born here, went thru proper processes, and those going thru processing now - just got slapped and spit on - Again.

So what exactly did he do besides sending 6,000 Guardsmen to the border on a temporary basis?

How will this solve the immigration problem?

Why? He is presenting nothing new other than he is putting a band aid on the problem.

Networks? You speak strange words, Earth-man.

Since Lou Dobbs has taken charge of CNN on this issue it's been my source for info. I find FOX News to be a purile spin doctor for GW.

Oh, but remember. The Mexican government is our friend and ally. Those guys in Mexican Army uniforms shooting at us are just an illusion. GW is a total waste of salt.

So what exactly can he do? Congress writes laws. At the mere mention of Executive Order, the Dictator title comes flying out. So, what can he do?

I tried to listen real carefully.

He did not say he was trying to stop the illegal immigration. He said he wanted to reduce it.

You really gotta listen carefully to every word these weasels say.

translation........
We don't want to stop terrorists, we just want to slow them down. :barf:

He blew a load of hot air nonsense up our rearends.

Only 6,000 guardsmen?

I think NYPD sends that many cops to Times Square on New Year's Eve.
